Terroir & Vines
The estate is named after the steep cliff made of quartzite which dominates the vineyard, near the village of Causses-et-Veyran. The plots of the Cru Roquebrun are slightly eccentric on shale hillsides where rock outcrops. The vines are rooted in the rock, giving our wine its uniqueness. A blend dominated by Syrah (70%) and completed by Grenache 30%).
Vinification & Ageing
The grapes are hand-picked with a strict sorting. Fermentation is realized in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature (25°C). We operate to a long maceration of the Syrah (20 days). Malolactic fermentation is done in stainless steel tanks. The wine stays 10 months in 500L French oak barrels for one third of this cuvée, the remaining wine is aged in stainless steel tanks.
A wine with a red dark and bright colour, the nose is complew xith ripe red fruit, spices and garrigue aromas. The attack on the palate is powerful and extending on a beautiful amplitude and a very long aftertaste, ending on fresh and minty notes.
